Singularity Transfer Credit Evaluation (TCE)
Transfer...retention...student success!! Singularity TCE is a robust application built on the Singularity Software platform to completely automate the transfer credit process. This Singularity module enables institutions to spend less time processing paperwork and more time on recruitment and servicing their students. Singularity TCE manages paper, EDI, and XML transcripts and seamlessly integrates with the leading degree audit solutions and student information systems to provide real-time credit evaluations for transfer students.
It is stated in the Associate Degree Pathways (House Bill 2382, section 1) that:
"Community and technical colleges play a vital role for students obtaining baccalaureate degrees,” serving as an "essential partner" in meeting the demands of students. However, the Higher Education Coordinating Board also found that “current policies and procedures do not provide for efficient transfer of courses, credits or prerequisites for academic majors."
As stated in the Spellings Report:
"Barriers to the recognition of transfer credits between different types of institutions pose challenges to students and prevent institutions from increasing capacity. Students too often receive conflicting information about credit-transfer policies between institutions, leading to an unknown amount of lost time and money (and additional federal financial aid) in needlessly repeated course work. Underlying the information confusion are institutional policies and practice on student transfers that are too often inconsistently applied, even within the same institution."
